help me identify song playing when Allie goes for run?

Watched this movie rather late...hope people are still visiting this forum!

I'd really appreciate it if anyone could tell me the name of the song/artist used in the scene where Allie goes running, just before meeting Will at the water fountain...y'know, right after her parents tell her they'll be staying in town for 3 years and she's so excited about track & field.

Out of all the songs, this one grabbed me the most ...the others were a bit too plastic-y dance-y for my liking. :P But this one was poppy in a more exuberant-rock kind of way. And it fit the scene/character's state of mind better than the other song choices, in my opinion.

Unfortunately, the end credits didn't bother to give credit to any song except the one *playing* during the end credits, and that's not the one I liked. I don't understand why they didn't credit every song they used. Is that not required, legally? Yes, I'm a bit peeved. ;)

Anyway, IMDB doesn't list it in their soundtrack section either, since the other one they do list (besides the end-credits-song) has a male vocalist. The one I'm seeking has a female vocalist and has lyrics like:

"counting footsteps to keep your foot in time but hey-ey-ey-ey it sounds so sweet"

A little nonsensical, when you read it, but hey, it's catchy. :) Google didn't help me either. I hope someone here can.

Jordin Sparks - Battlefield if you mean the run before she invites that guy over for friend burgers?

Sorry for the late response...I'd given up on ever getting a reply to this thread. :P Wish it was the Jordin Sparks song...would've been easy to find, since it's actually listed here at IMDB! Nope that's not the one...just streamed it on youtube to be sure. (The official music video, so totally legal, don't delete my post Overzealous Moderators out there ;))

But thanks for trying to help me. :)

So, now, years later, I google the lyrics I was able to decipher, again... but still nothing comes up. Sigh. I'm guessing this song was by an indie artist, sent to ABC Family as a music placement thingy, but not actually officially released anywhere. ABC Family TV shows tend to have indie/impossible to find songs like that, and I guess the same thing happens with their movies. Dangit. I'll NEVER find this song. Argh.
