Norwegian Academy award Best foreign movie candidate

Kon-tiki is today voted the Norwegian candidate for best foreign movie nomination for the Academy Awards at the Oscars in February 2013.
It was chosen in hard competition with the movies Kompani Orheim and Som du ser meg, both critically acclaimed, and good candidates.
My favorite was the fabulous Kompani Orheim, but it's no surprise Kon-tiki is the candidate.

Definitely a movie suited for the Oscars, good to hear because I really enjoyed Kon Tiki. Deserves at least the nomination.

I really do have love to give, I just don't know where to put it

Today it was announced that Kon-Tiki made it to the final five in the Oscar nominations, making it an official Oscar nominated film, and the fifth Norwegian film ever to do so. I am myself very surprised and thrilled about the announcement. I am glad on behalf of the people involved with this project, and the Norwegian film industry, which we Norwegians often belittle for its many flaws. But this is certainly an encouragement and, I hope, and incentive for the Norwegian Film fund to finance more high budget genre films, focusing on our history. When this is said, I am not entirely sure how deserved the nomination is. The film is a good piece of craftsmanship, especially by Norwegian standards, but I feel that the script and structure is not worthy of an Oscar nomination. Although, I haven’t seen any of the other films nominated, so I can’t be sure. Rumor has it that Amour will win the Oscar at the end, but a nomination is a victory in itself. Congratulations.

Congratulations on the Oscar Nomination!
Great that's it's nominated, and I think it's correct.
I also loved "A royal affair", which also deserves the nomination, and all the praises for Amour says itself.
Kon-Tiki has that feeling which an American moviegoer will like, if they're into fgoreign movies.
I know it's not the way it works, but Amour will get other prises on the 24th (Had at least 4 other nominations, among them "Best film").
But if the voters think like that, they will vote for Kon-Tiki.
However, I've heard many of the voters are elderly people, and they probably will love a film about old peoples love and their trouble with the alzheimer nightmare, so Amour probably gets it.
But a nominastion for Oscar will also stick to the film, the makers, the distributor and the nation.

Thanks to its nomination it has been released in Mexico this week. As far as I remember it is e only norwegian picture released out of festivals in over fifteen years and it will be the first movie from your country I'll be able to see.

I want the daily poll back.
