'Is it black?'

Was the joke from the trailer referring to:
a) Duh, of course the tire is BLACK
b) He asked if it were black because police are racist to black people
c) or I'm (KillerCowboy16) just an idiot
...It still looks like a good/funny movie to me.

"Victims; aren't we all?"

Seems like it was just a ridiculous joke in context. Mostly A. But there was some other motives to the dialogue.

One of the funniest part of the film.

...a little fantastic, and fleeting, and out of reach.

This is late, but I actually think it is a.

It's basically a French film, and we have to account for a different view when it comes to race.

I have only seen the trailer, but it's a French film that is set in the US. My guess is that the French filmmakers are making light of (the intelligence of) American cops and political correctness. By asking "is it black?", the cop is essentially saying "we shouldn't automatically assume that the perpetrator is black, just because he commits crimes" while forgetting/overlooking that they're talking about an ordinary-looking tyre.
