Yes, the mid 1980's plastic bags were touted by greenies as a way to save trees from becoming paper bags.

Once again, the "progressive" movement is shortsighted and changing it's mind again. You guys want to save the Earth? Kill yourself.

I doubt these new greenies are doing any charity work or else they'd see how the bags have also been helpful.
