(SPOILER ALERT) Right To Die or Mercy Killing

I liked the film right up until the last scene. Although I'm not an authority on English law, I'm sure that this would not be possible.

Just a simple question, 'Are you sure that you want this?', and then the medical staff pulls the plug.

That just didn't make any sense, and made the film seem completely absurd.
