Canadian DVD is 120 minutes -- are DVDs from other regions cut, too?

Just curious. Thought this was quite good but there were moments were you could just tell large chunks must've been excised to speed up the story, especially during Thorne's recovery after getting injected by the villain and hospitalized. In the Canadian version, he's back on his feet within about two minutes of actual screen time. I assume that took longer in the original? Odd that Scaredy Cat, distributed in Canada by the same company, is uncut while Sleepyhead is considerably shortened. :(

I just saw this on HBO and it was also 120 minutes long. I came to this board because I felt like I must've been missing something, but I gather from others' posts that it has that weird, rushed feeling to it everywhere. Although I did see one post that indicated the season was broken up into three episodes, so...if you think that the average episode of tv is between 37-43 minutes long without commercial breaks...that would work out to be the two hour version we saw.

In other words, I think whoever adapted this from the book really did just cram it all together, and that we saw the same thing everyone else watched when it first aired on Sky. Frustrating, because it felt like it could've been so much better, especially with a lead as great as David Morrissey!

(If you haven't already, you might want to check out the RED RIDING trilogy. Same kind of setup but far superior, IMO, because everything was given an appropriate amount of time to unfold.)

Oh, wow - I can't edit my above post on my phone, but I just glanced at the running time listed on the front page here and you're right! And yet the airing I just watched ran uninterrupted from 10:45 am to 12:45 pm.

Apologies for misinterpreting the other comments, and now I feel ripped off! (I'm in Canada too.)
