Is there more?

I watched both SLEEPYHEAD and SCAREDYCAT and enjoyed them, mostly. But they seem to start as if the audience should be aware of some background concerning the characters, their friendships and interactions--and that isn't even hinted at. Are these part of a series that's not available generally?

I agree with you. It's like we walked into the middle of a movie and had to figure out who was whom and who did what, etc. Bothers me too.

And did anyone else wonder why the son, the killer) sent Tom texts and wrote on the mirror and also why did he have to kill the black lady, she didn't remember him ? And why write that on the mirror if he kept believing that Tom "saved" him. I know he was nuts but it'd be nice if we had some idea of why he did what he did and how did he get/ pay for all the hospital equipment and monitors, etc. It'd cost a fortune and he was just an orderly!

There definitely seemed to be conflicting motivations throughout. But maybe they just had to leave out too much that is explained in the book/?
