The Acting

Performances across the cast are highly effective, with special mention to be made of Jeroen Spitzenberger as Walter Süskind and Karl Markovics as Ferdinand aus der Fünten. In a less prominent role I thought Nyncke Beekhuyzen as Hanna Süskind more than capably portrayed both his loved wife and a woman who realises too late, like many other Amsterdam Jews, the extent and capriciousness of the German plan for her kind.
