Is Tygo allergic to hair dressers?

Although this is a pretty decent film, I was again rather annoyed with actor Tygo Gernandt who for some reason walked around with a 1970s haircut.
He has done this before, in another reasonable Dutch WW2 film 'Oorlogswinter'.

The 1930s and 1940s were a time when pretty much every man and boy had an extremely short haircut, the short back and sides.
There were a few exceptions, crazy artists, Einstein, cross dressers, etc.
But look at pictures from that era, see how pretty much all men looked; SHORT hair.
And in this movie most actors and extras their hair looks ok, in most cases it fits the era.
That is why Tygo stands out even more.
Long hair, too long, in both movies.
Did he refuse to get a haircut?

It was also a bit sad to see someone walking around with a modern baby doll in stead of a 1940s doll.
