raw milk


i stopped drinking dairy because of the hormones and antibodies given to the cows, because once it was brought to my attention and i thought about it it made no sense to drink the milk of another species, drink milk past weening (humans are the only species to do either, and we do both) and because of just how cruelly the cows are treated, at least on factory farms. i now drink almond milk. i love the taste and it is good for me, animals, and planet. if there is a downside i do not see it

so here are my questions - (movie is on my 'to see' list, sorry if it is answered there). what makes raw milk healthy for humans? it is still cows milk, which is meant for calves. i am amazed how many people think cows make milk just because they are cows, and do not realize they have to be pregnant to make milk. they are forcibly impregnated on factory farms. on the small family farms are the cows treated well? do the calves get to nurse, or are they stolen from their mothers right after birth? are the females forcibly impregnated over and over, or are they milked if they just happen to be pregnant?

They do go into detail on the many benefits of raw milk. You will have to watch it to see (too long to type on here lol) They also show many organic farms that are natural, healthy and beautiful. Their stock is vision of health :)

I myself drink only almond milk as well, but after seeing this, I wish I could get some raw milk for occasional things (certain recipes for example)

You are correct. No animal milk is healthy for humans. This documentary irritated me because they failed to make this point. Milk is bad for your bones, mostly due to the fact that animal products are acidic to our bodies. Not only are very small amounts of the calcium absorbed, but it leeches calcium from our bones. Yes, raw milk is better than pasteurized, but they are both bad for you, so it's a moot point.

People have a hard time understanding this truth because the "milk, it does a body good" mantra has been pumped into their brains their entire lives and who can fight the dairy industry?

So raw yoghurt and butter should also be avoided, cause they are made from dairy, or are they fine, because they are prepared differently and the bad things disappear during the process?

Actually, that's false. Milk does do a body good. It certainly did mine. I had grown allergic to everything for 6 years due to a poor diet and over use of antibiotics. Being allergic to so much, and my gut being so inflamed made it hard for me to get my nutritional needs met. Because not only was my diet so limited, when your gut is inflamed no matter how healthy the food is, you can not absorb the nutrition.

After 5 years of being off dairy I became deficient in calcium because although I drank almond milk and ate greens and almonds, I had a hard time breaking down my nutrients, which is necessary when eating plants to utilize its nutrition. But animals contain bioavailable nutrition, meaning it's ready to be used by your body without your body having to do the work to get the nutrition. So, since I reacted to cow and goat milk, I tried sheep milk yogurt to get my calcium needs met. It worked. And I felt so much stronger on sheep milk yogurt. And after a few months a new farm began distributing sheep milk. I fell in love. It more than agreed with me. I NEEDED it. But after 2 months they stopped delivering sheep milk in my area. (I live in a small community ) I was heartbroken. The sheep milk had done wonders for my health. Well, by that point I had seen this movie and knew where to get raw cow milk, I had just been too scared to try it; with all of my health problems I didn't need anymore. But I still needed milk, so I got brave enough to buy some and haven't looked back. Raw milk is anti inflammatory, a good source of omega 3s, vitamin D, vitamin A, zinc, calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, and b vitamins. it's really an ideal food. It's easy to breakdown because it isn't a dead food because it hasn't been processed. So it has the enzymes to breakdown proteins and sugars, so you don't have to take digestive enzymes when you eat it because it already has them.

And I know a lot about nutrition because I was 21 when I got sick and was reading everything I could about health and nutrition to get my health back. Which I'm doing. I'm no longer allergic to anything anymore. It took me 5 years before I found all the answers I needed to find out how I got sick in the first place and how to reverse it. And then it took me a year to actually fully heal.

Some children drink cow milk or milk from other animals since birth (my son included). He is not getting any calcium from any other source. So if milk is being leeched from his bones instead of absorbing then how is he growing those bones?
The same is true for animal babies. Some people have problem with milk but everyone else is fine with it. If a cow is raised in a pasteur under healthy conditions then its milk is good for you. Any factory-farm raised animal is bad for you no matter what part of it you consume.

still haven't found what I'm looking for. I think bones will just grow anyway as people get older. the calcium argument has always been, at least that I've heard, is calcium strengthens bones
