I would have Sheriff Tobin's badge!!! (Spoilers)

Most of my knowledge of policing comes from 'Criminal Minds,' but that means I've been trained by the best.

Whilst this Sheriff Tobin character is being commended for "saving lives" at the end by Detective Roan (who clearly only wants to sleep with her), I'm left to wonder who exactly she saved.

She enters the crime scene, has two perps sitting their ready to be cuffed, and she decides to free Rebecca Mayer because she's crying about her imaginary daughter?

Well, boo-hoo, cry all you want crazy-lady, you just killed Ted McGinley (who is now stuck as a short-order cook at some random diner btw), and about 8 other people because you thought they were creepy for staring at your NON-EXISTENT daughter. We should feel sorry for that person? Nope. No, we should not.

You know what's not creepy? Staring at nothing. Cuz that's what they were all apparently guilty of - but the Sheriff has sympathy for this nutjob and agrees that they were creepers on some level? She's crazier than Rebecca Mayer.

But for her GIGANTIC miscue, both those people, crazy Rebecca Mayer, and Calvin would be alive today, and in jail where they belong. Instead, he's got a pair of scissors sticking in his shoulder and a bunch of gun shot holes in his abdomen. Meanwhile, she's just been shot as well. Both die. Well done, Sheriff.

You get commended for that? Nonsense. I would have her badge!

Then, to top off her idiocy, whilst she's sitting there flirting with Detective Roan she suddenly decides that she's ruining her daughter's life (for some reason that's fairly unclear), and runs off to go home to give her a hug.

Her daughter who solved the case for her by the way.

In doing so though, she left her effing partner behind! You know what you might want to do before you leave Sheriff? How about giving all-around good-guy Deputy Lance Johnson a ride home????

She drove him out there to the middle of nowhere, and then just LEFT HIM THERE! Now he's going to have to catch a ride home with somebody....or walk. What if he's needed at the station? Is he going to call a cab?

She's the worst Sheriff ever. Simply the worst.

I'd have her *** on a platter if I were her boss.

Shame on you, Sheriff. Shame on you.

Agreed on the Sheriff. She never should have untied Rebecca Mayer knowing she was dangerous too. All in all I thought it was a great movie, and quite unique. I myself felt sorry for Rebecca Mayer. She was very very sick and losing her daughter to a serial killer messed her up big time. It broke her forever.

Regarding the Sheriff, she did feel sad for Rebecca, and mentioned she had no right to kill those men even though they were deemed criminal or creepy. Bottom line, she was mentally ill and delusional. The serial killer was evil and would have ended up in prison. Assuming Rebecca survived, she would have ended up in a mental institution.

Just watched it a year after your post and agree 100%. I've added a goof for this blatant lack of following accepted police procedure. BTW I learned mine by doing, was in law enforcement for several decades.

I'll add in you don't take your kids along when responding to an emergency.

In the real world I predict she'd not be re-elected- if she were able to get elected in the first place.

Ignoring politics doesn't mean politics will ignore you.
