Did they ever say why they ended this show...? It was doing so well, I knew a lot of people that watched it....
Was there a reason behind ending the show?
They gave the reason under the trivia section of the last episode...which was a bad decision of the network and BS in my opinion. I was hoping that another station would pick it up like the CW picked up Supergirl from CBS.

The reason was that McCarthy decided to become healthy and they decided she wasnt fit for the role anymore

People have lost weight. It was believable that she had. She still had her shopping vice.
It ended because Melissa McCarthy moved on to movies.

How do you know she was surprised? Statements released aren't always one hundred percent true. If so, they wouldn't need PR in this business. She continued with it while making films because she was under contract. If they had convinced her to stay with the show then it would have cost them more since since she became popular.
It's a business and she has to follow the best career path for herself.
There are lots of Storylines they could get from this.
1.Suddenly slim Molly tries to get Mike to loose weight by putting him on a strict diet.
2. Mike thinks Molly will leave him, now that she's no longer fat.
3. Molly's sister worries, because slim Molly is prettier then her.
Etc.
