I wish they did one more thing in the finale

I wish they went back to the OA meeting where they first met. It would be a really cool way for them to pass on their story and show folks that are still having a tough time that they can have everything they want and more.

The show started there and could have at least make one last trip back.

Oh, I didn't even think of that. That would've been nice.

Obviously, there were always jokes about being overweight and such, but the entire OA meeting storylines kind of went away. It's also where they met Harry. He was not utilized very well though.

I guess Chuck Lorre and the writers just decided to do all the meeting material over at "Mom"

They met Harry at the Cubs game. They invited him to a meeting of OA. Agreed, they didn't utilize him too well....once he came out of the closet I thought they would have more of a storyline for him. I liked his character.

Yeah that would have been nice. I haven't thought of that.

They seriously should have done that but I guess it wasn't on their minds since they haven't really showed the OA meetings in the past few seasons.

reply

Yes, that would have been appropriate.

They did try to tie up all the loose ends: sort of getting Carl and Victoria back together (glad they didn't bring back Christina, whom I could not stand); Mike and Molly adopting a baby plus Molly being pregnant; Vince and Joyce admitting that the family is like living in a zoo; having Nana make an appearance; and even having Peggy admitting that she is a difficult individual.

reply

The only problem with that is Mike doesn't look much thinner than he did in the first episode when they met. If I was joining OA and Mike Biggs came to talk to us I would think OA didn't work very well......

I'm certainly not trying to be mean-spirited but for a guy who supposedly joined OA six years ago I would expect him to have lost noticeable weight.

I was hoping they'd do what many sitcoms have done, bring out the
cast to wave to the audeince (and include it at the end of the episode).

I see where you're coming from, but my point of going back to the OA wasn't to show the physical weight loss for either character.

The point was that Mike went in there back in season 1 knowing he had an issue and the overeating made him think he couldn't find someone and be happy etc.

It was more to prove that even with his weight struggles he could still be happy and stuff. That's more of what I was going for.

Good point.

Considering they made Molly preggers at the end, no point in going to OA for her anyway.

Why? A compulsion to overeat does not go away with pregnancy. 
