Some of the voice acting is abysmal.

Finally playing this after years of hoping they would make a PS4 version, and overall I've been enjoying it. Just found out the killer's identity and while I'm not super impressed, I can live with it. But the one thing that really kills some of the game is some of the voice acting. All the kids' voices are horrible, just putting weird emphasis on words that wouldn't normally be. Lauren's voice acting is also bad, and some of Ethan and Jayden's makes me cringe. It sounds like uninspired actors were reading from a teleprompter. In the case of both Lauren and the kids, you can hear the actor's natural accent coming through, and it just makes wish they had found someone different who could emote. It just could be me being spoiled by how natural the voice acting in The Last of Us and Until Dawn is, but I was expecting better in this.

The Origami Killah.

Ugh. The only consistent performer, IMO, was the voice actress for Madison. It's a shame the other performers couldn't put in the same amount of effort. When Lauren pronounced Manfred's name as "Man-Fred" instead of "Manfrid" I wanted to scream. And then she kept doing it. Man-Fred. Like Man-Bat from Batman.

I couldn't agree more. Very dry.

The extremely Francophone kids.

The kids and other non main characters have French voice actors.

I agree! The voice acting was terrible for every character except Shelby. The way Ethan shouts "Jason!", cringe. For a game that was critically acclaimed, I expected better voice actors. Such a shame.
