Who really got the worst of it?

My wife really wanted to see this movie and after we saw it, it got me to thinking..... Jeremy is the biggest victim in this movie. If you really think about it, Jeremy was engaged to be married to Paige. He was obviously in love with her and she flat out dumped him. Now years later, he has moved on with his life, met someone new, and is about to be engaged again. Paige wanders back into his life and selfishly kisses him. This stirs up all the old emotions, he gets rid of his current girlfriend, only to be dumped all over again. As sad as the movie was, Jeremy got the worst end of the stick. Does anyone else agree?

reply

Not at all. He was totally selfish just like many others in the movie. She was in the state she was in because of a trauma which caused amnesia. He knew that but didn't care. So he dissed Leo and grabbed for the gusto not concerned that she needed caring and nurturing.

Why is he more deserving than the parents? You could make the same argument for them, but, there, it was more obvious that they only wanted back what they no longer had, and didn't care how they got it. Same for Jeremy. They were all selfish and displayed no real concern for Paige.

reply

No, not at all.

Paige was the victim of a brain trauma. Her behavior towards him was the result of that. A grown man would realize that Anyone who upsets his life for a woman who dumped him and now has with brain damage deserves to be a "victim."

If you can't walk and talk/text at the same time, do the rest of us a favor and get out of the way.

Jeremy should have rejected any moves by Paige. He knew she was not thinking right so he should have gently nudged her away...

You shouldn't feel too sorry for him. That playboy got women waiting in line for him.

I don't agree at all. Remember the scene at the wedding reception when he tells Leo that " I'll remember that when I'm in bed with your wife" or something to that affect. He was a jerk and she was still married to Leo so in effect he was chasing some else's wife. What does all that say about his character? The reason she dumped him in the first place was pretty evident. He didn't get the short end of the stick, what he should have gotten was a real ass kicking by Leo.

what? Jeremy was a dick, remember Leo told him how much Paige suffered when they were on a relationship and he was really just trying to get advantage of the car accident to bang her, that´s why he acted so nice with her but he was actually a dick with Leo revealing how he really is and his real intentions

Read the thread title and thought this was about the fart scene...
