Good movie but too much man-crying

The Koreans have started making very good historical war movies within the last ten years. WAR OF THE ARROWS (2011) is a must see, involving the invasion of Korea by the rising Manchurian Dynasty in 1622. Now for the 20th century there's TAE GUK GI and now comes the interesting movie and concept, MY WAY (Mei Wei).

I like the Korean war movies but there's just so much man-crying in it that I'm starting to become very uncomfortable. Compared to western war movies and Chinese and Japanese war movies, all the men in Korean war movies break down and weep uncontrollably frequently. I can't bring myself to believe that Koreans actually cry that much. Perhaps it's their culture and it's okay for men to cry, weep, and sob uncontrollably, as well as do a lot of shrieking; maybe it's a sincere form of sympathy expression. I don't know. But I'm not used to seeing so much uncontrolled loud crying to amounts to screams and shrieks. MY WAY is no exception. The Korean guys do a lot of crying in the movie. Curiously, the Japanese depicted don't do any crying although they are portrayed as bloodythirsty, remorseless killers by the Korean director. No surprise there. The Russians and the Germans in the movie don't do any crying so it must be a Korean thing.

:D Actually probably only the Koreans are honest enough to show how much they cry :D And the others especially the Americans lie about it. At least in some samurai movies I have seen a lot of grief.

And if you watch Soviet war movies, you'll see that the vast majority of them are accented on the human misery rather than on action. In many Soviet war movies there is very little action and lots of talking, suffering, etc. These movies are quite psychological and difficult to watch and comprehend. Which by American standards would be unwatchable.
Although in recent years the Russians started making Hollywood-like movies especially about Chechnya. There was this movie (I don't remember the title) that was 90 minutes of nonstop slaughtering, cruelty and action far surpassing anything I have seen made by Koreans or Hollywood.

BTW. The Germans and the Russians in the movie don't cry because they are Hardcore... Seriosly... there is no real reason to cry. There aren't such roles. And the only movies where you could see sad German soldiers are German movies. In other nations' movies all you see are evil, cruel Nazis.

Also the Soviets in the movie. I bet they should be some sort of NKVD guys. And if you know the history by that time they would have deported, tortured and killed millions Soviet residents. Stalin's political purges were more terrible and killed much more people than the Holocaust.

Speaking of the Holocaust, one of the many, many things I rolled my eyes at in the movie was a crematory in a Soviet camp. The Soviets weren't using them even in German camps they turned into Soviet camps. They had grave sites, usually marked, just unnamed (only numbered): http://ausstellung-gulag.org/en/495/

The concept of this movie was awesome. A Korean guy who fights for 3 different armies!!! But yeah... this was just retardedly too melodramatic.
