Well now it's finished I have to say I've been really dispointed with it I was expecting it to be really good but it's been so boring most of the time & I wanted to give up on it but hate not knowing the ending of things. David Tennant played the part really well but the script let him down. As for his kids they were so hard to understand sometimes!

shareNo not just cos they were Scotish cos when they were talking one on one or normally were fine but when they were shouting from another room or acting excited were hard to understand. The oldest lad was a great little actor.

shareI really only watched this series because of David Tennant. Most of the characters were annoying. Sarah honored her best friend by shagging her partner. Not only that, but she also tossed aside her boyfriend with yesterday's news. I guess I just have problems with the premise of the story. One minute Dave is grieving the loss of his partner and the next he's snogging Rita's best friend. And has this man ever heard of birth control?
shareI just finished watching the last episode, and have to agree with you. I think the too-soon-love-story with Sarah was just out of place. She should have stayed out of the show, or at least stay in the shadows. The real plot should have been the loss of a wife and a mother, taking care of the kids, finding Lucy's dad, starting a new life. But they had to make it a soap opera, with the Stewart business and the falling for Sarah stuff.
To me it looked like a show they created for David Tennant, because he's a big star in the UK, but they didn't realy think of a good story line, and had him ride his bike a lot (IF that was him, they allways showed someone riding a bike, and Tennant taking off his helmet...) or being upset over something, with his hair over his eyes..

I also really only watched this series because of David Tennant as its not the sort of show I normally watch but he was as good in this as his other stuff.
The show was quite good and I would give it a 7 but shame how it just ended like that.

Seriously this was so out of place, Sarah and Dave are awfull people seriously. PLus they are having a baby?! it is not even 6 months Rita died! I know there is not a specific time to stop grieving but come on!
Plus the kids accepts it so well....this was a waste of my time. Well apart from seeing David tennant again!!!!!!
I agree with the script being poor. There were times when I was literally yelling at the television calling the writers horrid things for some of their choices. I found the editing to be very bad, and some of the context was missing, and others were poorly scrapped together.
The characters ranged on a scale from annoying to hideous. Most of them being reasonably annoying, peaking at Lucy being the most annoying character I've seen in a long while. Dave's daughter and ex were also high on the list of annoying characters.
I wish Lucy would have left for Italy and been written out early on.
