Prom is nowhere near that awesome.

I don't know what prom is like in the States, but being from Canada, my prom wasn't all that great. I tried to make the best of it, but it was nowhere near as fun or as awesome as they make it seem in the movies. Then again, this was only for my prom. It probably just depends on who's putting the thing together.

liquor helps

It's badass, nobody cares what happens and everyone gets hammered. Everyone is down for anything and ridiculous stuff ALWAYS happens. Always make sure to go to your after grad or grad camping if it's happening. Don't miss out, and don't worry if you don't have a date. Most of the school is in the same boat. It's just a big party. The dance and dinner is just for the parents.

I went to a friends prom my junior year, another friends prom my senior year and then my own prom and they all stunk. But to be honest it all depends on who your with. For my own prom it was AWFUL! I had a HORRIBLE date and didn't have a good prom group either so I didn't enjoy it at all. Unfortunately I was going to go to a different friends prom the same night and but he ditched me at the last minute which sucked. I wish I didn't go, I would have saved a ton of money.

I smoked some pot beforehand, went to Prom, got smashed and had sex.

Prom was the least memorable of the night.

I only went to one prom but it rocked. The prom itself was a lot of fun and the after-prom party was the best part. It was held at this place that had a ton of fun things to do and I beat the rest of the seniors in the go-kart race lol The only thing I regret not doing was me and my date going to another person's house afterwards because they were planning on going to a theme park the next state over and we were invited. By this point, it was already almost 4:00 AM and I was dead tired. There's a ton more I could say about the whole night, but there's no reason to really.

There were too many people in my grade, so when we had prom, the dance floor was crowded as hell. Also, it wasn't the greatest sight for some instances. (If anyone catches my drift >.>) The music was okay. Wish we had a better DJ, and more of a variety and I spent most of my time with my friends outside the place in the lobby area. (It was like the second floor of the Hilton hotel.)

Although we were trying to get a theme, that never happened and the food was okay as well. I liked the drinks. xD

My after-prom was pretty fun. It was held in the courtyard of my school, and the weather was really nice. There were so many activities to do.

They always over hype prom in TV shows/movies. No one gives a crap about prom queen/king in a lot of states. Prom itself is more like the preparty for all the after parties. Plus it's more than just a dance for the seniors. Usually as long as you pay for a ticket, then you can go no matter what grade level you are.
