I think it was going to be quite a stinker. But I ended up watching it and enjoying it. This movie may be totally and completely cheesy and predictible, but it was still pretty decent. The actors did a decent job, the set was pretty good looking, and the characters were pretty likeable. While some of the situations may be unrealistic, it did actually deal with some real topics that high school seniors face. Would I go out and recommend it to just anyone? Hell no. But if I know a person who is into cheesy teen movies, then I sure would. As a teen comedy movie I think it ranks pretty high the list, though there are way better ones (Mean Girls, Easy A, Clueless, Breakfast Club, etc.), but it was still enjoyable.

Prom was much better and enjoyable than what i thought it was going to be. it did have its predictable moments, but the characters were so fun and likable, that i didn't mind. i think it helped that the actors/actresses were relatively unknown, otherwise i don't think i would have been involved as much. it was a fun ride!

It's one of my fave movies of the year., The IMDb rating is a joke and once again people are just being overly critical of something they haven't even seen.

Agreed, I quite enjoyed it I thought it was a very cute movie. It doesn't deserve those harsh critics. It's by no means a masterpiece, but it's not exactly an eye-sore either.

I was a bit surprised, too. I was hesitant after not liking Lemonade Mouth so much. The menu screen on the DVD made me no less hesitant. But it kinda ended up blowing me away. I loved it. It actually made me care way more about prom than I ever did as a teen going to them. I loved the characters, cared a lot about them, it was consistently funnier than I expected, etc.

I agree. It's not the best movie ever, but it was still really cute. I'll admit to liking a girly cheesy completely predictable movie every once in a while... :)

Saw part of it on Starz the movie wasn't bad plot wise since like you said its a cheesy, predictable teen movie so you know what you are getting. The thing I couldn't get over is how old the actors looked, especially the male leads.

I have to admit I thought the movie was FANTASTIC. It was cheesy, but it was such a fun and engaging story at the same time. With great characters like these, it can be as cheesy and cliche as it wants IMHO.
