Just finished all 4 seasons of Victorious -- no wrap-up???

I wish they had graduated. It felt weird to end like that. Fun characters, a few bizarre situations (that whole foreign country episode, I mean, really??? ). Some good songs.

I think Tori should have gotten together with Beck, or maybe with Andre. Anyway - RIP Victorious.

Yeah Tori and Jade had the most chemistry and was actually the largest ship on the show. Beck and Jade had amazing chemistry but they have crazy chemistry with everyone. Personally I think Beck and Trina would make a good couple.

reply

I liked the idea of Trina and Sinjin and Andre with Tori. Beck and Jade were more jaded/ cool while Tori and Andre were high strung at times.

reply

Trina and Sinjin? Now that would be a laugh!

reply

I think Tori should have gotten together with Beck,

Yeah, that wasn't happening. They just put Beck and Jade back together. Through 2 episodes (I count Opposite Date because it was a big step for them). I'm pretty sure the Beck/Tori ship sailed in season 1. They kept throwing in stuff to keep up drama especially after Beck and Jade broke up but I don't think they ever actually entertained putting Tori and Beck together after the 1st season. It seemed like early on they realized they really liked Beck and Jade together.

reply

Well also if anyone thought they'd ever break up they were crazy. They were the couple of the show. Yes Beck and Jad were there own characters but "The couple" was it own character, thats because you have that in a group of friends. Plus them as a couple equaled more storyline and added more to storylines than them not being a couple. All them not being together added to the show was "would Tori and Beck get together" "would Jade and Beck get back together" and Jade and Beck dating other people with the other possibly being jealous. They covered everything them not be together added in those few episodes. If it was a drama they could have gone other places but its not a drama.

They pulled the rug out from under Dan and he never got to do a proper Victorious finale. One of the great TV tragedies of our time.

But it was mostly Dan's fault for smugly assuming his show was immortal. Any good showrunner knows you make every season finale good enough to double as a series finale, because TV is a fickle beast and you never know when it'll be over.

But your shipping angle brings up a good point... we're probably better off without a Victorious finale because it'd just be insulting how they fix Tori and Jade up with random schmucks instead of putting them together like they rightfully deserve to be.

Couples I ship the most:

Tori and Beck
Jade and Andrea
Cat and Robbie
Trina and Sinjin (for a laugh)

For the most part, ending as, well, "Victorious" rather than "Goodbye Victorious Special" is a more fitting farewell, even though in this case it was more of a don't-let-the-door-hit-you-on-the-way-out dismissal than a bon voyage. You could give it a sense of completeness by having them graduate or one or more of them moving on to a role in a movie or a record deal or Broadway or whatever, but that would likely just bring up more contrived emotions and not really stay in the spirit of the show. Series Finales are often either predictable, non-descript with closing episodes of other shows, or end with some kind of forced provocation that feels like it's hitting eject when clearly there's more it wants to explore.

The Series finale didn't really give closure, but it ended truly as "Victorious" and I guess that's good enough, even if there's always a want for something more. It was cancelled a bit before it's time, but the double-edged sword is another season would likely just rise as many fan complaints about what didn't happen, esp for what would be in a more typical series sendoff. I mean, it was an unbendable truth that the Jade and Tori ship was never going to sail- even for a network that allowed something on the level of Ren and Stimpy (albeit a long generation ago) they somehow would still fear the possible backlash of portraying a same-sex couple on a for-kids network. So a silent forbidden no-no, had to stay in it's wink-wink off camera prism. And another season of Cat and Robbie dancing around each other, being-madly-in-love-but-never-admitting-it would just get infuriating. For a beautiful bit of ironic karma, the just-another-"Victorious" episode finale, while none of them being offical beaus, had the pairs together in their final scenes.

but if you really want to know the outcome shipping of the show, it was briefly mentioned in sam & cat. basically, jade is still with beck. cat and robbie are a couple, but in all honestly, it's a flimsy couple. cat would of easily dropped robbie for freddie. she offered herself to him saying 'you could've if you wanted to.' if cat really was into robbie, she wouldn't of done that.

this is all from the 'killer tuna' episode of sam & cat. it crossed freddie, jade, and robbie into the show.

reply

At the end of the episode, Robbie and Cat still went on dating. Just like Sam and Freddie. So I really think that there were no problems afterwards between all of them.

What makes it all very interesting is that Cat only did that to make Sam jealous. Why? That is because she was really fiercely jealous about the fact that Sam hanged out with Jade. It really looks like that she wanted her for herself. If you know what I mean.

reply

i dont want to start a shipping war by any means. to me, the shows are done and its not important. im just relaying from what i saw in the episode.

and yeah, you're right on all counts. the only thing that i will say different is that freddie could still be into carly. only because his mom asked him if he was still standing out of her door to her apartment at times.

as for cabbie, i never liked the couple. and whether it was a meaningful relationship or not, i just viewed it as week.

reply

Sorry but Cat and Robbie and Sam and Freddie were not together at the end. Also Cat and Robbie have never been "dating"...

They all might have feelings for each other but they weren't together.

Also Freddie might still have feelings for Carly but after their kiss in iGoodbye it was quite obvious that Carly didn't share those feeling. She more than likely kissed Freddie as a call back to iSaved Your Life and awkwardness after confirmed what Freddie thought in iSYL, it was just the hero thing.

The elevator scene with Carly and Sam in itself had more passion than anything Creddie or Seddie ever displayed in the series.

Yes I'm a hardcore Cam shipper, but even with my predisposition yo that ship, Dan ended iCarly with no ships at all. Victorious also ended with Bade as the only ship. Sam and Cat confirmed all that with Tuna Jump, Bade is the only ship in this Universe.

reply

At the end of that episode Sam/Freddie and Cat/Robbie did went to hang out with each other. Just the two of them. Does not that count as a sort-of date?

Sam: Oh, hey Benson?
Freddie: Mmm.
Sam: When your face heals up and you can chew again Let's you and me go grab some dinner and have some fun.
Freddie: Ahhhh.
Sam: By the way, I took eighty bucks outta your wallet.
Freddie: Hmmmrrrrrmmmmm.
Robbie: Cat, when my wounds heal, maybe you and I could hang out, just the two of us.
Cat: Would there be meatballs?
Robbie: There would.
Cat: Kay kay.

reply

hate to say this to you, but that means nothing.

having those lines only means that they are friends. and without actually seeing any actual date, or a relationship moment. ie, cat and robbie kissing, or sam and freddie kissing, it's not proven to be true.

it's not canon in a sense. without having any visual evidence, it's not true. so without seeing an actual date or public displays of affection, i wouldn't take this as anything other than the potential of friends meeting up in the future.

reply

It seems that I have deleted a big part of my previous post by accident. Yeah, that is what you get when you are doing too many things at the same time. Oh well.

Here is the missing part of what I wrote:

On second thought, it DOES looks like that they're going to hang out as friends and not as lovers in a relationship. That is because there's nothing that indicated that they're are dating or something. In case of Cat and Robbie; They're not in a relationship, but they do like each other. Have you seen how Cat reacted when she hear Robbie sang that song that he especially wrote for Cat?

reply

right. the only thing i will say is that yes, robbie likes cat. but cat has not returned the feelings. and if you want to go far enough, yes they did kiss in 1000 berry balls i think, but cat just ran away. leaving robbie with no answer, and by next episode, any mention of the cabbie 'kiss' fell off the radar. it was never brought back up or referenced.

jade and beck kept being a couple since then. robbie and cat had nothing.

reply

Hangout is right, at most you could say a date.

reply

yeah, it could be 'at most.' but i wouldn't count it as anything. hanging out could just be two friends chilling. again, it's nothing specific enough.

the only way i will see cabbie as canon is if robbie and cat are either on a date or kissing.

figuratively, kissing and hanging out still really doesn't count as a relationship simply because robbie and tori both hung out after tori helped robbie rub his mamaw's feet, and they have kissed. hell, you could even add in the fact that tori and robbie had lunch together. did that count as a date?

as for the kissing, they did a few times. once, by drive by acting exercise and two, if you count when robbie (and andre) kiss her cheeks after they go meet up with their other friends. and yes, i dont know if the internet videos count as canon or not. but i'm judging not.

so yeah... hanging out really doesn't count as anything. simply because using tori and robbie in that definition.

reply

Oh I agree... Also yea, I've made out and slept with randoms and friends without even short term intention, just that moment in time intentions.

People on here act like holding hands is a big step in a relationship. Hell making out isn't anything, and to a lot of people sex isn't even that big of a deal (myself for example)

reply

Not everyone feels the way you do, kid and thank God for that!

Don't let anyone ever make you feel like you don't deserve what you want.

reply

Their was never a fourth season. The show was axed after season 3. That's why their was no proper series finale.

reply

yeah i hate how there was no ending to see what happened to everyone...

they should have graduated.

and Tori and Andre should have been together

reply

Don't take my word for it, but there's a "blind item" (ENTERTAINMENT LAWYER 03/06 **#13** in 2014) online that suggests that Nickelodeon wanted to get rid of the show (despite its popularity) as fast as possible before the proverbial "shit hit the fan". There was allegedly a lot of sex and drugs going on behind the scenes that would've been extremely bad for Nickelodeon's image.

There was no wrap up because the series wasn't intended to end. They cancelled it after season three had finished production. Then the producers got the brilliant idea to split that into two abbreviated seasons to get another year out of it.
