So it's scripted, so what?

Do you go to the movies, even knowing they are scripted and enjoy them? Of course you do. Do you watch and enjoy other shows on television? Most likely. Yet almost all of these are scripted.

So people hate this show because...why? Because it's a reality program? Because you have the brains to work out that it's scripted? Seems almost hypocritical if you can enjoy other things that you know are fake. It being scripted isn't really a good enough or legit reason to hate the show since as I said, you enjoy movies and other shows.

I could understand if you don't like the show, just by viewing it a show and on it's own merits, but aside from that, I don't understand how people can hate the show just because it's "scripted".

I hate it because Zahi is in it. And because it is superficial. And because the makers thought it would only be interesting if every 10 seconds something dramatic happens. And I hate it because Zahi is in it. I know I mentioned that before, but this is the main reason I hate it.

I think most people hate the fact that it has fake scripted drama in it. People getting "trapped" in pyramids... alleged archeological fellows saying dumb *beep* like the pyramids were made by aliens... etc. Egyptology is fascinating. History is fascinating. It doesn't need to be so utterly over-scripted, but the fact that it IS turns a lot of Egyptophiles off.

My issue with it is that it's being promoted like it's "real" but it's so obviously not. It's badly done too.
