No this not my first experience with Hawass, since apperntly he is the only person allowed to do television interviews on Egypt. Also I was going to caviot my original post with the antisemitsm with it being no big surprise for an Egyptian Muslim.

And yes there is plenty of evidence, no "Proof" but load of evidence there looking in the wrong era of Egyptian history, stuck on the 18th/19th Dynasty assumptions that began with Josephus and Eusebius's excerpts of Manetho and have today been popularized by Hollywood.
The 12 and 13th Dynasty of plenty of evidence of ethnically Semitic slaves.

I can see where the conduct of Israel might make a Muslim say such a thing. He doesn't say "the Jewish people," he says "the Jews of Palestine," because it's something they've done.
