Have lost much respect for Zahi Hawass

Strong, brilliant, and passionate is one thing... Emotionally and physically abusive and destructive is something else entirely.

I still have respect for Hawass as a scientist, but have lost nearly all regard for him as a decent human being. Maybe it's not the real him - maybe it's a result of the extremely poor 'unscripted scripting'. The way he jumps around in front of the camera attempting to demonstrate "feats of strength" becomes pitiful and sadder the more one watches.

His fellowship candidates appear to be idiots, with little real knowledge of the history of the area they've come to study. His 'assistants' seem nearly as lame. I would expect a scientist of such international acclaim to attract a better class of people.

Perhaps his arrogant and inhuman personal abuse of others has whittled down the pool of people who are willing to work with him. Sad sad commentary if this is the true nature of the man.

The guy who narrates the show seems to put no energy into the narration. Especially at the end when he says what Hawass has found. He just zips through it. I guess he has to run and get his pay check.

"run and get his paycheck" ?? Remember that the narrator of whom we speak is "Leslie" Even after all this time in the desert, Leslie still displays impressive, shall we say, GIRTH. I doubt that Leslie "runs" anywhere much - even to grab a paycheck. Though he does have strong tendency to run at the mouth without engaging his brain.

Cluster f#ck? That's a good way to describe this show. Everything thing feels poorly staged, and Dr. Hawass' tyranical outbursts and tirades leave me questioning why anyone in their right mind would want to work with this man. I used to have a great deal of respect for the man and his mission. Now I don't. It's as simple as that!

But not for his personality on the show.

I have lost respect for him agreeing to be part of some brain-dead staged pseudo-reality show like this one.

Why would a man, dedicated to the serious study of archeology, take part in a show which makes a mockery of it?

I have to wonder if he didn't realize how stupid the show would be, when he first signed up for it.

In my opinion, he has no right to get mad at anyone for making "mistakes".

They need to can cell this stupid show.
Did you see the episode with the bats. Hawass was screaming like a little girl. My god that was embarrassing. I lost all respect for the man. He looked ridiculous and pathetic. The man most have a tiny dick to be treating people that way and be afraid of bats. Hell, he is an archeologist for Christ sake. He most have seen many many bats. Well, one thing I know... Indiana Jones never ran from snakes screaming like a little girl.

You know, I thing Hawass is a creepy guy. Specially with the girls and specially Zoe. He was way too attached to Zoe. He even dragged her when he traveled to Texas(remember the episode where Laura Bush was there etc...). I saw Zoe there too. Gee, why would he drag a fellowship student across the world from Egypt all the way to Texas and back to Egypt just for a gallery opening. That isn't normal. I think they used Zoe's husband as an excuse to cover her leaving the show but I am quite positive Hawass was looking to dig into Zoe's tomb. I you know what I mean. Same with the other girl. The chubby one.

You know, this whole show is a pathetic attempt to show the world how powerful he is. The actually thinks he is Indiana Jones. Have you noticed how in every press conference he always plays the hero archeologists that saves the day. (Well, at least when he is not screaming like a little girl)

Yeah, we get it alexponce. How many different threads are you going to post this on? Nobody was putting a gun to your head forcing you to watch this. If you can do it better, get off your fat butt and go over to Egypt and show us how it's done.

I have been to Egypt. I was doing research on something else and we had an encounter with that A$$hole. Our research was very time sensitive and he just decided it wasn't worth it so he force us to go. We wasted months trying to get access to one of the locations under his control. In the end we had to use an alternate site.
Hey, I will post in as many threads I I like. Who the hell are you to tell me that or call me names. You don't even know me, hell, why are you defending Dr Hawass, I bet you never met him. Well, I have.
I am an astrophysicist. I use technology all the time. Dr Hawass wants to live in the 19th century and keep everybody under his rule. The hell with hi and you for defending that egomaniac.

oh, and by the way... If I were an archeologists I will probably be doing it better than A$$.

As I posted in another thread.
I've read blogs and articles about this man and his overbearing pushy nature and "always right" attitude. I saw it for myself when an Egyptian history show aired and it was basically him talking over everyone. I pretty much have been turned off from watching Egyptian anything if he is involved. Which is a shame because I really loved learning about Egypt.

this man is a liar and not and scientist ... i had never had any respect for this guy ... he is not taking care of the culture, he is robbing it ... the way he threats the artefact is totally unprofessional ...

i was in egypt and the stuff they tell about the kemet culture is full of lias and not true statements ... and they are all selling it as the only truth ...

this show just showed me how the egypt in our days is has nothing to do anymore with kemet ...

I have only seen an episode or two but I don't like the way he treats the people on his "crew". he seems like a school yard bully and whenever he talks he always comes across as condescending or out right yelling at them even when what he is saying aren't angry words. He just seems to talk like that no matter what he is saying.
