The 'Bats' episode wasn't that bad...

I guess the show becomes more intellectual once you kick out the whiny fellows, make Derrick earn his keep and actually talk about theories and artifacts IN DEPTH.

It still got oddly dramatic when they talked about aliens making the pyramids and I also had no idea why Hawass is deathly scared of bats who wanted to "kill him", plus when they went to the wedding that was almost too much concern about Hawass well being by Leslie...like the guy whose never been to Egypt knows more than Hawass...but overall, it was a much better episode, no fellow upset about her husband, not much Gordon Ramsey behavior out of Hawass for the most part, etc...and much more explanation about the Sphinx and artifacts they found.

It was watchable with minimal fast forwarding...maybe the fellows were the problem? I've noticed Derrick has been working more on the show, as opposed to looking dumb as well...though I was taken back when no one knew what an obelisk was...I knew that and I've never taken any class on Ancient Egypt. They can really smart up the show more if they want to...I'd be happy with that.

I agree

same here, I didn't know the story behind why it would be there, but how could anyone in the field not recognize the shape?

I really enjoyed the Bats episode. Maybe they are finally getting it right. I think Zoe was the main problem. Whoever decided to give her so much air time made a huge mistake. The show should be about Dr. Hawass and his work, not some foolish intern.

Oh come on, Hawass was screaming like a little girl. My god that was embarrassing. I lost all respect for the man. He looked ridiculous and pathetic. The man most have a tiny dick to be treating people that way and be afraid of bats. Hell, he is an archeologist for Christ sake. He most have seen many many bats. Well, one thing I know... Indiana Jones never ran from snakes screaming like a little girl.

Is this the episode where they explored the cave system connected to the "bird Mummy" place?

If so, a year earlier he had denied that they existed when a british team found them going so far as to call them Pyramidiots. Only to do film an entire episode about it and seal off the entrance afterwards.
