This film felt kind of like Sexy Beast

I'm not saying they're the same, but when I was watching this I got the same sort of vibe. Of course, I thought Sexy Beast was better, but I liked this flick. The acting was pretty solid, great cinematography and seemed pretty realistic. It had some flaws,...but overall I liked it.

Now you mention it, yes, I know what you mean.

Lead guy was convincing and script was well constructed + nicely shot.

Yeah, I agree about the lead guy. Even though he was a dick, you kind of felt sorry for him because he's a relatable character to someone you have known at some point in life.

He uses his physical strength and anger to intimidate people and to gain respect,...even though deep inside he just wants an attractive girl to make him feel special and some friends who think he's cool. He's kind of pathetic, but very realistic.

You're not a writer Fink, you're a goddamn write off

Indeed, a very nice surprise. Went into it expecting nothing, and was entranced throughout, even if it was derivative of several other films (particularly Dead Calm and Donkey Punch, which many reviewers have noted). Oxenbould (Bull) was pretty darned good as the antagonist, and Daisy Betts is absolutely gorgeous, with decent acting chops as well. I gave it 8/10, not so much because it deserves a rating that high, but because it gave me just what I expect out of a late-night Netflix stream- an engaging way to while away a late summer evening...

Right. Well, I have to-- I have to go now, Duane, because I, I'm due back on the planet Earth.

Yeah, I was reminded of "Dead Calm" as well. "Dead Calm" is better, but not by all that much. I've never seen Donkey Punch.
