More good Thai films?

I really enjoyed this film and it is an oddity in the rash of below par Thai horror films that populate the last decade (e.g.
Ghost Game (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0817928/),
4bia (which was watchable) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1292575/),
Brutal River (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0467598/)
and many others. There is good horror movies and there is mediocre horror movies but it is as if they are mimicking the mediocre American movies to make something boring.

The best have been
Shutter (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0440803/),
13 Beloved (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0883995/) and
Meat Grinder.
I also liked
Body #19 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1160315/) and
Alone (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0484090/).
If anyone knows of any other superb Thai horror films or better yet, disturbing dramas please drop them on this msg board.

These might have been Thai or Indonesian, I'm not sure but great movies nonetheless- The Forbidden Door and Darah aka Macabre.

Actually I just checked they are Indonesian but you should give them a go, very similar to vibe of 13 Beloved.

Yea, I really liked Rumah Dara.
It was a ripoff of À l'intérieur, but it good.
It seemed to be a mashup of À l'intérieur and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Never heard of The Forbidden Door.
It's got good reviews; I'd like to find the director's Dead Time: Kala too.
Gonna watch TFD. Thanks waitingworlds!

I just watched Takut: Faces of Fear. It is nine short films, one of them called Darah, a precursor to the Darah film you suggested above. It is from 2008 and stars the same Beatrice Dalle of Indonesia. To explain: she is so cute she looks like she'd bite a dick off.

It is co-produced by Brian Yuzna: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0951206/

Takut:

They all are not great but Darah is.

Yeah, I started watching Takut pretty late at night about a month ago and fell asleep after the first 3 stories but never went back to finish but I think I might do that tonight if not only to see Beatrice Dalle.

They played similar roles in Darah and À l'intérieur (Inside), respectively.

If you missed Inside (which I doubt), man, it's one of the best horror films in the last ten years and I'm pretty sure it's the damn bloodiest film I've ever seen. Either that or it felt like it was.

reply

Haha. Right. That makes much more sense. Thought that was a weird name for her to have..
