Surprised

I watched the movie for the second time last night. The first time I was thoroughly engrossed into the film but found a lot of the abstract and seemingly randomness of some scenes to be off putting and made no sense to me. I followed the movie up by watching the analysis by Chris Stuckmann and a few other's and then suddenly the title and meaning of the entire film made sense to me.

Fast forward to yesterday and I watched it again... And I was blown away by it, even having seen it before. The "random surreal" scenes work so much better when you understand what's REALLY going on. I caught onto to the characters, their actions and their dialogue much better. Not only is this film extremely beautiful visually and great sonically but I actually found the film to be nearing on flawless and actually pretty great. I was not bored at any point of the film and I fully grasped what was being said.

I'd even say Only God Forgives & The Neon Demon are actually Refn's best films to date. It's too bad many other's only want more Drive. I feel like people are missing out on some great experiences.
