How many years does MGS4 span from MGR:R?
I would assume that Solid Snake is already dead way before the story of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance starts. But I am curious how many years has been it been since MGS4? Just to let you know, I'm not talking about the release date. I already know MGS4 came out 2008 and MGR:R is coming out this year.
The story of Revengeance takes place between the events of MGS2 and MGS4.

The initial project (MGS: Rising) was supposed to take place between MGS2 and 4. But since they scrapped it for the Revengeance version they changed the setting too, supposedly it takes place "years after MGS4" albeit no official time frame has been given yet.

In interviews they have said that it takes place 4 years after.
To me it sounds like they are doing "a Men in Black II", meaning that Raiden's story was neatly sealed in MGS4. There is no good reason to bring him back years after.
I heard that it was nine years after? But I could be wrong! I'm pretty sure it atleast post 2020, as they wanted as much freedom as possibly story-wise. I'm guessing Snake will be dead, yeah - although I wouldn't be surprised if there is some sort of retconning that allows him to appear.
