Yes I thought so, I thought early on that there would be violence, especially when I saw other waiter with the black eye. That and his character definitely alluded to violence at some point against Albert Nobbs to me.

I liked the ending though, I'm sure Mr Page charged her $500 & then some, so at least the money ends up with the right people.

I didn't think that, but the friend that I saw it with did. I don't think Joe knew just how much money Albert had, but he was using Helen to try to get things out of him because he thought Albert was attracted to her.

YES. After his talk, I feared it every time Albert went out. And I hoped Hubert would somehow avenge the owner's theft, but couldn't imagine how. Overcharging sounds perfect. Thanks for leaving me with a somewhat happy ending.

I was convinced he was gonna steal the money.

I also for a moment thought Albert would find her rich family,but maybe that would have been a little too Dickensian

YES...I thought for sure he would steal it or have Helen take so they could go to America. I was pleased with the ending and I'm glad the movie wasn't predictable.

Yes, I had to turn the movie off when he started telling Helen to get money from Albert, I could just see him losing everything to that pair and needed a breather before watching the rest. Interestingly, they deleted a scene with Helen which would have painted her as a less sympathetic character.

I totally thought he was going to steal the money with the key that Mr. Nobbs dropped after his concussion (?) or brain damage or whatever killed him/her. I also wanted to smack the bleep out of the stupid uppity hotel owner.
