Mr Page and his wife

So.....I am a bit confused!!Did Katlin know that her husband was actually a female???? If yes, they were lesbians??I cannot explain it otherwise...If not I think Page could not hide it...they should have sex..
in the scene where page was talking about helen...was she pretending to be jealous...???

Yes, Cathleen did know.

In a later scene, the camera lingers on the SINGLE twin bed; this is when Albert finally realizes the depth of Hubert's and Cathleen's relationship.

In the scene where Hubert is gushing about Helen, he does it in a teasing way, and Cathleen responds in kind.

There was a singer (who was a woman posing as a man) married to a woman for years. No one knew that she was a woman until she died. I can't remember the singer's name. So, it's entirely possible.

Mr. Page's wife knew he was really a woman. They share a bed and are married. She was even listening in when Albert confesses why he began dressing as a man, and she makes a point to come in and call them both "men" right afterward to re-affirm that that's how she sees them.

I don't think anyone in this film was definitively shown as a lesbian. Hubert seemed to be a straight transgender man (in his case, someone born biologically female but who felt their true identity was male). His wife may possibly have been a lesbian and felt Hubert was her only easy option for being with a woman, but it wouldn't have been a big deal for two women to live together at that time. It looks more likely that she was pansexual (i.e. someone for whom gender identity doesn't factor into their attraction). And Albert...Albert seemed like just a really sensitive person who was traumatized by rape and thought being male would protect him from sexual violence and allow him to earn a living in peace. Then when he saw Hubert's happy married life, he tried to replicate it but didn't seem to be genuinely attracted to anyone. He just didn't want to be alone forever.

Back in the Victorian era, being gay/lesbian was not allowed like it is today. So women dressed like men to be with their lovers. So, to the outside world, they were man and wife.

The movie never truly answers the questions if "Mrs. Page" knew or when she knew (before or after the marriage) however I suspect she did know given how touchy the two are plus she appears to overhear a bit of Albert's confidence with Hubert and seems sympathetic, probably Hubert had told her before he arrived that he had met someone just like him.
