In scene after the credits, there is a chance that he is alive?

Ottway is definitely alive, you can hear him breathing and see his head move a little... the wolf is still alive too, but it seems both are dying.... my interpretation is that Ottway won his battle with the wolves by taking the Alpha wolf on and mortally wounding him

He then ate the Alpha, wore his skin (and his head as a hat), fashioned a sled, harnessed the pack as his own personal sled dogs (who obeyed him as he was now the Alpha), and rode all the way to Anchorage.

When asked by the authorities how he survived, he told them he had a "particular set of skills".

When asked why nobody else made it, he exclaimed, "....I guess they just weren't on my list..."

I think the director made it intentionally ambiguous with both of them appearing to be injured yet still alive. My interpretation of the ending was that it was much more significant that he chose to fight the alpha wolf rather than die. A recent suicidal alcoholic chose to fight for his life literally with broken liquor bottles strapped to his fists. Fantastic.
