The EYES!

Of all the little things I keep noticing about Tom Hardy's magnificent performance in this film (which I've now watched 5 or 6 times), the latest is the look in his eyes just after Deeds threatens to kill the dog. I never saw or heard "I'm going to kill you" expressed more clearly. What Hardy is able to do with those eyes is miraculous.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I've expressed these sentiments before. He can carry an entire scene without dialogue with just his expressions (face, eyes, posture) alone, and pull it off effortlessly. You understand exactly what he's wordlessly saying. One of my favorite scenes is at the bar Super Bowl Sunday and Nadia comes up to tell him how she's come by being and that Eric has a gun; the look on his face, his eyes are all he needs to say. This guy is amazing. Tom Friggin' Hardy.

Said the same when I saw him in RNR. Stayed for credits to find out his name. Knew he was going to be big one day. He had IT and now everyone knows. Cats out the bag. Glad no one drown the cats instead.

Like your sig from What We Do In the Shadows lol. Funny movie.

Yes!! This is exactly the thoughts I had when I saw this scene.

Hardy's performance here, is one of his best.

If looks could kill, Deeds is a dead man walking.

I agree, his facial expressions are subtle and expressive. I appreciate the less is more school of acting.

Have you seen, "Locke? It's a film that takes place entirely within the confines of a car with Hardy driving.
Another great performance.

I became a fan of Hardy's because of "Locke". Anyone who can spend an hour and a half just making phone calls from a car and make it fascinating is brilliant in my book. He's just as good in The Drop. I realized that his particular strength is playing people are bad to some degree or other, but are so sincere about it, that you sort of overlook the sort of person they really are.
