The baseball game

I've only ever been to one baseball game, and that was in Canada, but, according to Abduction (still struggling to work out why the movie is called that) it seems that a lot of Pirates fans aren't too worried about actually watching much of the game. The concourses are absolutely packed with people while the game is going on and many are actually leaving the stadium as Nathan is running out.

As an avid baseball fan I can tell you that sometimes during a game people are walking around under the stands. Most of the time it's between innings or right before it starts, but it was weird how they made it seem like it was over because a lot of people were waling around. They did film the movie during a live game so that might have some influence.

as a long time Pirate fan, it's been 20 years since the Pirates had a winning record, so really, we haven't watched the Pirates try to play baseball.

kburd-4,

It happened this year. The Bucs were actually good for a few months this season. And Pittsburgh is one of the best sports towns in America. Fans still come out to Pirates games even though they had had losing seasons for the past 20 years. Sports in Pittsburgh is not like sports in Florida or California where most of the time people could care less and only show up when they are winning. People still show up to Pirates games and the Steelers and Penguins have been sold out for years and are really expensive.

I do think it might have been better for him to attend a Pens or Steelers game though. But that was already done with JCVD in Sudden Death.

I would say that St. Louis is the same kind of town, but it's been quite a few decades since we've had a string of losing seasons.

Sorry Pirates fan.
