Nothing to praise

Weird acting, strange behavior from every character, a convergence of conveniences, a WTF-laden plot, sparse action, bad music, and even poor color correction.

Just saw this on Netflix and despite low exceptions, Abduction didn't even strike me as competent. To his credit, Lautner does a few jumps you aren't used to seeing in a film these days, but that's easily negated by his delivery and stone face.

You didn't think it was entertaining?
Abduction isn't a great movie, and anyone could pick it apart if they were in the mood to, but for some reason I let this one slide. It's an entertaining movie. Way more enjoyable to watch than it should be. I'd actually bet that alot more people enjoyed this more than they'd like to admit. It was never intended to be Oscar bait, it never tried to sell itself as anything else than what it ended up being.
Lautner seems like a nice guy in RL (you never hear trash about him), and it translates well on screen.
Hey if all else fails, at least make the film fun with a likable lead. Which this film did.
