Who placed the bomb and why? really, wasn't the bad guys goal to capture the kid...alive? Even if they placed it just to erase evidence of their entry or whatever, why was the timer on the bomb so short? I know this movie was full of plotholes but this one in particular seemed to just abuse the *action flick justification*
It happened when the two assassins came in the house to get Nathan. After they shot the mother, one of the assassins said to the other, "you get it started, I'll get the kid" (something along those lines). The second assassin put the bomb in the oven.
The reason they put the bomb there was to blow up the house and destroy any evidence of them being there.
That doesn't explain why the timer was so short, it wasn't even set long enough for them to logically finish their mission. They could have easily blown themselves up before even finishing their search of the house. Not only killing themselves but the kid in the process.
To make it even dumber, right before it bows up, the bad guy says "I'm not gonna die here." Even though he was wounded and the bomb only had a few seconds left. Huh?
I think I figured it out. The line was probably "I'm not LYING here." In the heat of the moment he said 'dying,' and the director left it in. A Freudian slip. ...I hope. Otherwise, it don't make a bit of sense. ...unless he really is dying and talking out of his head. I don't think they thought about this while editing the movie though.
