Season 9 Spoiler. WHAT?

The whole digging in the yard and putting that much money in a hole only in a garbage bag is beyond ridiculous. Then no panic at all when the dog digs it up and it's blowing everywhere? If I had hundred dollar bills blowing everywhere I'm going to freak out and start searching like a maniac.

I know it's a show and they like to add some comedy into H5O but McGarret isn't supposed to be stupid.

Also episode 3 is about a heat wave that is over 110°. Hawaii and Alaska are the only 2 states that have never seen 100°. I couldn't believe that about Hawaii. I just heard that fact a month ago. It was a question on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, lol.

reply

Are you sure you got that right? I know Hawaii is the only state that has never seen 0°. Seems to me 100° would be quite common on a tropical island.

reply

I've been to Hawaii a number of times and even though the sun there is quite HOT, it's never humid.

Those lovely trade winds! Even when it's near 90 degrees, when you get out of the sun, you don't feel hot. It's so unlike the humid east coast where I live.

It was really difficult to feel sorry for people who live in paradise year round. LOL

reply

I can relate to that being an east coaster myself.

reply

Yep Hawaii and Alaska have never seen 100°. I was shocked to see that myself. I would think that would be a norm for Hawaii.

reply

Well a quick search says the record high in Hawaii was 98 degrees back in '57. That episode struck me odd as well. I've never heard of heat waves there ever. But since many episodes of this show border on science fiction, whatever.

Yeah, this whole money plot is really f'n dumb. It's funny, but gimme a break.

I really enjoyed the heat wave ep anyhow. Lot of great character moments and it was nice not to have the perp case end in a gun battle for once.

Yep they do border on science fiction, so wasn't worried at all either as there is always something to laugh at in it.

Even in that episode with the heatwave, Tani is complaining to Reigns about how she can't stand the heat and they go to that house and we see she's wearing leather pants, I mean okay yeah had to change out of the shorts to go on patrol but leather pants in 110°F (43°C). Granted they could have got away with saying it was in the 90's anyway as it is all relative to the place it is happening, there the ave top is 80°F (27°C) with an ave low of 73°F (23°C). Look in the UK when they have 78-80°F (26 -28°C) a few days in a row it's a heatwave to them, here in Australia it's 115-120°F (47-50°C), so yeah it's all about what you're used to.

But eh it happens, like Steve riding under that security truck in an episode and coming out from underneath with his clothes torn but no cuts on his body or legs or any blood, it's all part of the charm for mine. There are enough serious shows to watch, the brain needs a break from time to time and this is one of those along with MacGyver and a couple of other ones.
