Claire florani character

I wonder if she is being set up as the new love interest for steve

reply

She looks like Steven Tyler.

reply

Too thin. Very angular face. I thought she looked like Angelina Jolie. Almost looked unhealthy.

reply

Haha. I know. Everytime I see her, I think of Angelina Jolie at her worst. Very thin and gaunt face.

But then. The show producers probably think all women look like that LOL.

Are you an SJW ? If so, please kill yourself immediately! Thanks

Her accent drives me up a wall. It's not British, and it's not American, sort of in between. Madonna was (is?) doing something similar for a while, and while she was annoying, this is worse. I think what makes it so insufferable is that it's almost barely noticeable.

The really strange thing is that I remember Claire Florani playing characters with perfectly good American accents, so I have no idea what the heck happened.

reply

Perhaps the producers said,"Just use your own accent" and this is what she gave them. I agree it is puzzling.

On the topic of accents, I am endlessly impressed by Alex O'Loughlin's American accent.

Meh, O'Loughlin's accent doesn't have a great deal of nuance. It's not egregiously noticeable, but, if you really listen to it, it's pretty much impossible to nail to one place, making it an amalgam. A great actor will work with a dialect coach to pinpoint an accent to one geographical location- something that many British and Irish actors do masterfully.

So, while O'Loughlin's accent is pretty believable, and gets the job done, I can't say I'm that impressed.

reply

I thought she was an Aussie trying to put on an American accent but ended up producing some type of hybrid accent in the process.

reply

She's a Brit who has lived in the US for over 20 years, and is married to a Scot. Who knows what her real accent is by now. ;-)

reply

See, there's the root of my issue. When people live in different places for long periods, they definitely develop hybrid accents, and, while I did, earlier, imply that this is a hybrid, now that I think of it, what's bothering me the most isn't that it's a hybrid, but, rather, like Madonna, it's an affectation. Claire is, imo, clearly choosing to speak in this warped manner.

That occurred to me as well. However, wouldn't it be great if he fell for someone who turned out to be a killer? i could see him with Elisabeth Rohm.

Boo Hoo! Let me wipe away the tears with my PLASTIC hand!--Lindsey McDonald (Angel)

reply

Wasn't she Special Agent Hunter on NCIS LA which exist in the same universe?

reply

Yes she was...which is exactly what I was thinking when I first saw her on this show. But then Hunter was killed when the car blew up so I guess she has been reincarnated in the usual TV magic way.

I've stood watch on the Enterprise, sailed with Capt Kirk, and learned engineering from Scotty.

reply

Hate when they do that

reply

Never watched that show but what made me look up was that she was on CSI:NY. That's what I remembered her from.

reply

Yeah Peyton Mac's ex girlfriend

reply

Whatever happened to his gal whom have him a black eye from last season, also what ever happened to that young chic Dano had. Strange how there gals just disappear for over a half season or should I say forever.

reply

Supposedly they'll be making an appearance. Unfortunately sometimes these actresses have committments to other projects and flying to Hawaii doesn't work out especially if it is just for a particular episode that's only going to have a few scenes. Also the writer's aren't that good in incorporating relationships on this show so we see them only when needed for storyline purposes.

Lynn works with juvenile delinquents. Seems like there could be some story lines there that would include 5O. Could be some interesting pillow talk comparing cases.
