IMDb is owned by Amazon, I pretty sure they had a say in this outrage.

Maybe life is a dream and we wake up when we die?

reply

That sounds so lame. Why don't you find out FOR SURE, then let us know the real story. Otherwise, you sound like you're throwing a tantrum.

reply

Seriously? No tantrum I was answering Libby's question.

reply

My apologies.... The first poster is throwing the tantrum. But do you know the REASON the messages are being removed?

reply

If you read the message that IMDb put up to let us know that they're getting rid of the messages, you'd know...

"After in-depth discussion and examination, we have concluded that IMDb's message boards are no longer providing a positive, useful experience for the vast majority of our more than 250 million monthly users worldwide. The decision to retire a long-standing feature was made only after careful consideration and was based on data and traffic."

Yes, I have read that paragraph, and I personally don't think it addresses the real reason or reasons, except that people are starting to b**** at each other too much and it's not positive vibes. What I don't get is why the person who started this thread is whining about Amazon and canceling his Amazon account because Amazon owns IMDb.

reply

for a lot of people these boards are their life. I kid you not. they post on these for hours a day. i will feel sad for them when this is gone. they will go thru major withdrawl.

reply

I agree. I think it is sad. To not have any communication here with others who share their opinions on the film industry is gonna be weird. I have to wonder if the communication system set up costs them too much money.

Good for you. I'm sure Amazon will miss giving you cheap streaming and free two-day shipping. You can pay more for your content now. It's like you're a genius!

Or it's like you're a toddler throwing a tantrum because he didn't get his way.
