We know that she had a rich partner/boyfriend at the end of the last movie and they did win the gold, but she went from driving an old crappy car to a new mustang convertible. And from living with her parents to a beautiful apartment.

She teases James about his sponsors and insists that she continued teaching the kids for her financial independence so I don't think she had sponsors or anything.

So where is her new found money from?

Yeah, that kind of didn't make sense to me either. Her apartment was beautiful. Guess there's always things that don't make sense. It's only a movie, what can I say.

She could have gotten it from the winning of the Gold Medal! She probably had sponsors and such for a while after that win.
