Why isn't Matt Lanter in this one? What happened to his character?

I hate it when they do this. The story is supposed to be "happily ever after," and then the producers mess everything up by coming up with a story in which the couple from the previous movie have broken up. I hate it.

I love Brendan. I've been a fan of his since he made a short appearance in Millenium all those years ago. I watched every single episode of Roswell because of him, but why not use a different girl for this movie and just leave the previous stories untouched. I'm so disappointed. What's next? Brendan in The Cutting Edge 5 without Francia Raisa?

Or they could choose to make one the next couple's coach if they do another one.

Done and done... go rewatch TCE2

Totally agree.

At least with the second one, they had the parents still together. After that, they just made everyone break up. Totally screws it up.

They could have completely changed the actors and sotryline... but no. They just have to ruin things.

And the characters are all bitter over it, completely ruins rewatching two and three

Love your enemies, for they will tell you your faults.

reply

I don't think so. well the second one is sort pointless, but the third and fourth have a stronger connection to both. I loved the fourth movie, the leads had more chemistry in this one plus they had passion, skating, tension, etc.

reply

Yeah I'm mad about it too. I'm pretending this is the same girl but a different character haha.

You know why!

reply

To the OP, it was a conflict of scheduling. Matt was shooting 90210 prior to this.... no way he could do both.

Besides, Matt couldn't have played the lead. Wouldn't have made any sense for this plot.

reply

That's why I think they should have used a different actress. Why not come up with a fresh story instead of breaking up the previous couple? How can I go back and re-watch the 3rd movie when I know they don't end up together in the end. :(

reply

I agree. The next installment will have two black leads. I say finish the franchise off and bring back D.B. Sweeney and Moira, they've aged and wouldn't it be nice of they mentored a new pair.
