What the heck with Charlie?

GEEZ...couldn't they have kept him normal and human? WHY? WHY? They already have every assortment of supernatural creatures running around as it is. Now they have had him die and be resurrected as some sort of demon? Don't tell me the writers are grasping for straws now? It was good having a human bunch/family among all the others. I sincerely hope they find a way to change him back because it could all get to be way too much fast and I would hate to see that happen.

some sort of demon now... i bet tehy can change him back...

I think it's a way to keep the family in The Gates. They were going to leave, now they won't be able to because it will be the safest place for Charlie now that he's different.
I'm hoping the change will help with his relationship with Andie....possibly making him immune to her??

I was hoping Nick would get help for Charlie from Dylan and Claire, either with their blood to heal him or turn him to save him from (final)death. At least as a vampire he'd be safe with Andie....and who know's what on earth he is now?!!!

Devon is sure evil!

I think it's a way for Devon to stay alive. She knows the vampires are coming for her. So she turns Charlie into something only she can control.

I also thought of it as a way to keep them in The Gates, but really, what would Devon benefit from that?

now that the show is over we will never know but honestly does anyone really thank that he would need to stay in the gates. he isnt just some vampire or incubus. when his dad tried to touch him he flew across the room like it was nothing. he clearly would be able to destroy anyone who attempts to attack him

Well Devon has been working on a big project the whole season. She's been gathering different body parts to make some sort of a frankenstein, and used Charlie as the last piece? She killed a man for his eyes I remember. I was wondering what she was making, and I think she now controls Charlie to stay alive herself and for the creators of the show to make the family stay in the Gates so WE can get a second season! Let's hope so :)
I don't really care if they kill emo-boy Charlie, just keep the show going :D

yeah exactly, i just want claire and dylan to be back, i love them, nothing makes me more excited than them baring fang covered in blood

the big project Devon was working on was the protection potion that Buckley took.

When Dylan had it analyzed he listed fluid from the eye of a werewolf and vampire blood as some of the ingredients

Peg said that what Devon could do to save Charlie was with Dark Arts and with it comes a price. No one ever said that he'd come back human and rarely so do good things happen with Dark Arts/Magic (Practical Magic, anyone??) And like Devon said, she said she could bring him but never said he'd be the same. Nick and Sara just made that assumption and you know what happens when you assume...
Peg should've known better what would happen and warned them better, but then again if she never messed with the Dark Arts then she may not have known exactly what the result would be.

What sucks as well is that Andie left thinking that the Devil's Weed wasn't working not knowing wolfboy diluted it. :(

But I too hate the cliffhanger it left us on. Anyone know is SciFy or another network would be willing to pick it up??

Back in hotel room Devon did a bit of divination looking for a way she could protect herself. She gets the vision of putting a hand over Charlie's mouth... so this is what leads her back to The Gates. Not to save Charlie, as she claims, but to save herself.
So as others have said, this was most likely going to lead to some sort of stalemate between her and the vampires. Her character is a big dramatic asset for the show so I'd be surprised if they wasted her so early on in the (now cut short) series.
I'm guessing she summoned some sort of demon into Charlie to serve as her bodyguard. If the series had continued I'd bet there'd be a few episodes about how to get Charlie back... leading to a truce of some sort... Devon letting him go... things going somewhat back to 'normal'... then some new story arc revs up.

Also, it seemed to me that she had been doing more with the vampire blood/werewolf eyes than just making the potion for Frank. There is an earlier scene that shows her using those elements in a ritual that involved drawing lines in blood on some sort of occult map/chart... followed by a scene of a werewolf and a vampire at a party getting into an altercation.
I think she was intentionally trying to exacerbate the tensions between the two groups... start a war. Who knows why... it might just have been a diversion for some other evil plan she had waiting in the wings. Whatever it was she certainly likes to stir *beep* up and keep people at each other's throats. Something I've seen bad folks do plenty of in real life because it keeps folks from realizing who the real villain is.

Charlie probably became an incubus and the spell Devon used keeps him under her control, for a time being. the sex he and Andie would have had! i suppose it won't be revealed now.

I'm so disgusted that they ended it that way, because I couldn't stop feeling bad for him. Then I thought, well often movies have that open ended or unhappy or scary ending so I guess that's what we were left with here...

Also, did the vamps end up killing the fake FBI lady (vamp)? I know they drove up next to her but it was left open-ended. Plus the possession story was too quick and rushed. There was so much left up in the air but at the same time forgotten.
