Supernaturally speaking, what was Leigh?

I guess not :(

My impression is that she is human who was affected by a magic user. Her heart exists outside her body. If she is away from it too long she is affected physically and she is incapable of loving another.

Hmm the Box she was so protective of had designs that reminded me of a Peacock Feather. That's just me tho. The Heart theory is cool.

I kept wondering if her actual heart was in the box because she said her boyfriend "ripped her heart out of her chest" and could not be away from the box long. Yet, in the last episode, I guess basically her "feelings" were in the box. When Marcus opened it, I thought perhaps he was stealing her essence and was going to become something, but that fizzled...

Maybe it's like The Picture of Dorian Grey. As long as she keeps it tucked away no harm can come to her.
