Problem with premise

So, I haven't seen the pilot, but I read it's about 3 couples in various stages of their relationship. Problem is that the newly-dating won't be "newly-dating" after at least half a season. Making a show where the basic premise is incompatible with a long run is stupid. (If it's not a mini-series, anyway.)
That being said, I still might see it if it gets better reviews.

What you read didn't describe the show accurately.

The premise isn't about a newly dating couple and friends, but rather 2 sisters, the older one in a long term but unmarried child-free relationship, the guy responsible and affluent, and the younger sister about to be married (and a mommy) after just dating for a few months. The young hubby-to-be is a doofus in a heavy metal band with performance art overtones, which often gets paid in meat. There are also the sisters' newly cash-strapped parents who are judgmental, conservative and very funny. The surprises in the pilot when the upcoming marriage is announced to the parents were hilarious,IMHO, as were most of the lines by all concerned.

I can see a continuing story about the culture clash between the 2 guys, and between the young hubby and his inlaws, and I wonder how dumb new hubby really is.

The pilot was Much funnier and more unusual than most relationship comedies, a genre I usually don't care for. I do agree that the laugh track should be toned down or eliminated.

Ah, I stand corrected then. Thx for info.

I approached the pilot knowing almost next to nothing about the show or its premise. I am a fan of Joanna Garcia's though so I was happy to see her with another chance at sitcom success. Unfortunately this may not be her best shot. The premise is uniquely weak and not much to go on.
