Sean needs to go on basic secret service training - errors list

If ever there's a secret service agent that needs to go on basic training.......

Basics :-

- when an alarm bell goes off and you are in a weapons drawn face off with a terrorist don't look round in shock at the alarm. There's every chance the terrorist might take that opportunity to shoot you

- when in pursuit of a suspect and entering a room with weapon drawn it's quite possible that the enemy might be hiding somewhere around the entrance to the left or right. Not always straight ahead Sean

- when diffusing a bomb just cut the detonator wire straight off Sean. I'm pretty sure there's o.00 % chance of the bomb going off (maybe check with Jeremy Renner first though)

How many times was the Bean disarmed n this movie !!

Mills, Bourne and Bond (even Johnny English FFS) are far from impressed Seanie boy

As the characters started to develop I was reminded of the series Callan. I kept waiting for Lonely to appear.

reply

Yeah, he could have just been invincible. I love 20 minute movies.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

The complete incompetence of Bean's character is pretty much established in the very first action scene, when he's guarding the fatman, carrying the briefcase up a flight of stairs:

The fatman is rich & important. The briefcase contains extremely valuable contents. He's a BODYGUARD, ferchissakes.
Yet, when there's loud noises of a struggle, and then some guy gets thrown over the railing onto the floor behind him, this "bodyguard" starts looking around, trying to see what's going on.

Any pro would have immediately gone into "protect the client" mode.

Pretty much the entire rest of the movie is like this. I think that his being incompetent was somehow part of the story, though I never really got why.

reply

Well, he wasn't really that man's bodyguard, he was actually a British agent working uncdercover as the fat man's bodyguard. He was taken to task for his mistakes by Scott and was then used by Charlotte as her patsy in a scheme to discredit and replace Scott. Unfortunately for her, Ewan wasn't quite incompetent enough.

reply

Even James bond needs to go back in to secret service training. He should learn not to take Hugh risks.

reply

Yes those "hugh" risks are so much worse than "huge" ones ;-)
