So Heigl has never fired a gun before....

....and sucks in the beginning but can shoot like a pro in the later half of the movie even though she hasn't used it in between?

And does anyone else find it unrealistic that an inexperienced woman can get a job which involves finding a man that has been charged with murder?

reply

it's just a fictional action comedy movie, not a realistic biopic.

I guess Stephanie eventually learned how to shoot a gun by going to the shooting ring.

Everyone would know that her cousin Eddie took her to the range each day because she was so frightened of BR, but they cut so much out that no one would know any of that. I know they couldn't have fit the entire book into the script, but couldn't they have done some important parts? <sigh>

Well, in (very, very, very weak) defense, they did show her practicing by herself at the range. Once.

What bugs me more, for some reason (probably because I can pick locks, but can't shoot handguns worth a damn), is the way she was able to pick that lock, and so quickly. And the lock wasn't even fixed solidly in place. It was that time in the movie where it was important to show that she'd learned something, I guess.

i don't see the big deal on this, i'm currently reading the book for the 1st time. & she took the job & before that she had never picked up before. so that did follow the book i guess somewhat. they just took out the scenes showing her practice that's all no biggie. honestly that at least is not a big deal. i mean if you look at say some of the "Harry Potter" films where they totally took "Winkie" out of the films, i don't see a big deal on it showing her being good at shooting.
