After 5 years on tv and dozens of episodes being made.that when Frank and Mike arrive at someones property to do a pick the owner would recognise them from the show and already know who they were without any introductions,but this never seems to happen.
Anyone else think this seems a bit odd?
No, it's not odd because it's in the script for them to act surprised and pretend that the "buys" weren't set up and or planted beforehand.

I was expecting someone to reply about the show being scripted etc,but if thats the case then the producers of the show must be dumb not to realise that when Frank and Mike turn up at a property to do a pick then the property owner should say something like "Hi,i know who you guys are ive watched your tv show a lot"
That would make the show look more realistic and unscripted.
Frank and Mike have made many other appearences on tv apart from American Pickers right? on chat shows and other tv shows etc? So they must have been seen on tv by many people who dont even watch American Pickers.
Actually they showed a lot of that on their 100th behind-the-scenes episode; when a collector would greet them by saying something like "Your'e those two picker guys on tv" they would edit that out. There was actually quite a bit of interesting info in that episode, you might want to watch it.
