horror movies

My nephew loves horror films. Sadly he thinks horror movies are just 90 minutes of people cutting their limbs off. I try to tell him that movies like this are real horror. All atmosphere and gothic and for some reason always having to do with the british.
i do love this flick
Great atmosphere

And i love the line "when we die we got up there, we don't stay down here."

It's unfortunately part of the way your nephew's generation has been raised. Constant bombardment with gory movies and gory video games has desensitized them to the point where movies like this one and The Changeling are boring to them. TC scared the crap out of me as a kid and still unsettles me today and this one is very close behind it. I think those of us who were raised before the explosion of 3D video games were a bit easier to scare and creep out.

'The Changeling' is creepy as hell! I had non stop shivers up and down the spine all night after that one!

"The scene where Scott first hears the voice on the séance tape gets the hairs on my arms up every time!"

I also remember a scene that had the ghost child raising from some kind of pool (I don't remember details, it's been a while since I've seen it). That really got me!

"Also thoroughly recommend Robert Wise's The Haunting (1963)"

Yes, that's a good one!

Yeah, that's right! I should see that one again, especially since all other temperatures aside from "on fire" have disappeared from Colorado. We need the chills now more than ever!

I still close my eyes during that part. It's just too bone chilling to watch.

I also love The Changeling. Gore doesn't scare me -it's just tedious and gross. Looking forward to this one.
