Silly movie, disappointing ending

There were a few moments in the movie that made me jump. But other than that, this was an overall silly movie. Also, it had the look and feel of a tv movie. Good performance by Daniel Radcliffe. But the ending was quite a disappointment and it distracted from the overall flow of the story.

I found it somewhat amusing to see the short Radcliffe standing next to the very tall Janet McTeer during the dinner scene.

The ending was beautiful in its own way. It showed you who's really in control. And set it up for a second one, with a different protagonist obviously, if need be. This movie basically got me into psychological horror movies, and I've watched dozens since, but I still have yet to see one that you can take meaning from and apply to the real world like you can in this one.

Are you saying these have messages or are just good atmospheric or frightening ones?

Some of those were on my radar to check out in the future. I didn't like The Others; Sixth Sense ruined that one for me. I've seen the American version of The Eye, Shutter and Dark Water, and they all sucked ass. I will have to check out a lot of these. Thanks.

I just got to both Ju-On: The Grudges. The first one is outstanding. I need to try more Japanese horrors, including the two Ju-On: The Curse movies.

I also saw Insidious 2 in the theater the other day. I left the theater and thought it was all right, but the more I thought about it, the more I liked how it tied into the first movie. Neither of them are quite as unnerving and maintain the same atmosphere as WIB however.

Another movie I watched recently and thought it was OK at first was Mama. But the more I think about that movie afterward, the more I hate it.

The changeling is very good, 1408 was down right weird but kinda cool too

The Others and The Eye are my favourites from that list.

Agreed! Could have been good.. The house was creepy, the acting was ok, the story had potential but the scares fell flat and the movie was overall very predictable and annoying

I don't think it was meant to be a big Hollywood film so that's properly why it looked more like a TV film.
