um so, when do we see them actually cheer for their football team?

i mean, thats what cheerleaders do don't they?
im up to watching episode 12 and haven't seen them do that yet?
or is it meant to be all about the 'competitive cheerleading' side?.

and just for the record, cheerleaders really do got some skills!!!

The focus of the book and the series is on the cheer competitions which is what most cheerleaders find important. Football games are their "job". Competitions are what inspire them.

There's a really good dipiction of this sentiment in the book the show is "inspired by" After almost a complete season, I haven't quite understood where the connection between the two is, they seem like two different things. Great book though check it out.

When the show can afford enough extras to make it look like they're cheering in a crowded stadium. In other words, never.

No need for a crowd. That's what green screen is for.

The reason we haven't seen it is extremely simple - there's no drama in that part of the show.

Green screen effects that don't look incredibly cheesy aren't cheap either, or you'd see better FX on the Syfy Channel. I think they'll just keep avoiding the issue.

They've done green screen effects for stuff you probably never realized.

Like at the end of the pilot episode with the crowd, and when Alice was talking to the security guard in episode 4, they were standing in front of a green screen, not the Cyclones rehearsing. And uh, oh yeah, when Charlotte fell at qualifiers, it was a composite shot.

Touché.
