I don't want Hellcats cancelled!!

This show has soooooo much potential! There are so many great characters and storylines, I hope it gets renewed next season and they focus more on the characters/cheerleading instead of so much singing.

Well, right now it doesn't look good.

No kidding.

BELIEVE! 2 Hour Series Finale of Smallville 5/13/11 8PM ET on the CW

reply

The first few episodes had great potential.. now no more. They managed to kill both characters thru very bad development cheap soap style and absolutely spurious storylines that wanted to look dramatic but were written in a very bad soap style.
They wanted to turn this show into a soap like Grey's Anatomy became after the first season, or how they ruined House the same way... But they failed at it. It's not what people were expecting from this product.

reply

Neither do I...but in the time slot it's currently been in where other more powerful networks have powerhouse shows on them, its future is looking a bit grim...If they could move it to MTV or Teen Nick or something, it might still have a chance, but it seems like it's not doing too well anymore on The CW now...

I hope it gets renewed as well for the same reasons. If the CW cancels it maybe ABC Fam could pick it up?

Estas ahí?

reply

ABC Family didn't pick up Life Unexpected and that was a great show so I don't think that ABC Family would pick hellcats up. If it's canceled, it's the end.

reply

I agree!! I hope, hope, hope they do.

i still love hellcats. fingers crossed it gets renewed (under the guise of getting revamped!).

not looking good tho... :(

Oh, no, not another one. First they canceled The Beautiful Life, then Privileged, and now maybe Hellcats too. I hate watching a show, liking it, and then they cancel it. I hope that this isn't true.

NEWS JUST IN HELLCATS CANCELLED look at the link below:

cant believe it got cancelled!! they should have cancelled one tree hill, i mean 8 season are enough!! lol

reply

Yep. It got the axe! Hopefully Matt Barr won't. He was really good in "One Tree Hill" and "Harper's Island." I feel bad for Jeff Hephner. He's not the luckiest person with television shows lately.

reply

Did Jeff Hephner get cast in a HBO or Showtime series immediately after he lost the Playboy gig? Something that already had a series order?

reply

My recollection is that he got a part on an AMC miniseries.

I am actually disapointed but not surprised to hear that it got cancelled. Sure I watched it to see Aly in skimpy cheer outfits (didn't mind seeing Ashley Tisdale in said cheer outfits either ;) ), but the writing was pretty decent and the story line didn't completely suck.

One Tree Hill should go!!!! It got saved and this show wasn't.

reply

I'm sorry, let me laugh. Why should One Tree Hill go? It has loyal fans, it does good in ratings and is good in syndication.

Hellcats has none of the above. Given cancellation and hardly unexpected.

reply

[deleted]

Um, facts are facts. The CW RARELY cancels ANY show unless they do terrible, hellcats did, and it got the axe.

reply

If they were loyal they would have followed the night switch....they didn't. Truth is it didn't rate well either night really. It costs a fair bit to produce these types of shows and unlike vamp diaries and gossip girl it hasn't gone to an international dvd market (which you can almost guarantee is the only reason those shows are still being made since they sell a b*ttload of dvd's internationally) and green lighting it is probably considered too risky now that Dawn is heading off, the other shows will probably be facing the axe next season if the network has come up with any new shows that rate better.

Hellcats being cancelled is not a surprise. Zero buzz, hardly any international sales and low ratings (too big of a cast for that) sealed its fate a long time ago. At least LuX got mostly great reviews. Hellcats went unnoticed in almost any way possible (not even decent tabloid coverage). There was no interest for this show or for the actors/actresses. Sad really. The show was good and I really liked Ashley Tisdale (she is quite a good actress) and Heather Hemmens.

Well, to any fans who want to sign a petition, it's below:

CW has a tendecy to set high standards. They are probably the least watched network (so I can see with the ratings anyway) and most of their shows are in the 1-2 million views. I'm not sure there was anything other than Supernatural and Smallville that passed that number. Even One tree hill is around 1.5 steady, sometimes 1.2

I was very surprised that Hellcats was cancelled since it had higher ratings than One tree hill. Again, this was near Christmas. I'm not sure about after.

Either way, when watching anything from the CW, I always give the show a season head start, that way I don't get too invested in it. The only one I watched from the very beginning was The Vampire Diaries.
